Get Ready for iGod v2
Sundays, Starting August 1st
9:00 am and 10:40 am
Next Sunday we will begin a new series of messages at NewCov. iGod v2.0 is a continuation of our exciting series in Romans that we began last summer. Again we will be taking questions from the congregation right in the middle of the message. You can text-message, Facebook, email, Twitter or write a question based upon the text we will be studying. Make it a priority to be in church and invite a friend to join you. Romans is a life-changing book which has had a profound effect upon millions of people.

To prepare you for the first message about “His Intention,” please read the following devotional.

Romans 5:20-21 The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, 21 so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

God’s remedy for sin is NOT to have you turn over a new leaf or pull yourself up by your moral bootstraps. God’s remedy is grace. Grace has a two-fold effect. First, grace gives you the ability to stand before the holy God of heaven. We stand in Christ’s righteousness and not a righteousness of our own. It is the “righteousness of God apart from the law” (Rom 3:21-22). Second, this super-abundant grace gives you the resources that are necessary to be able to walk. We can now “walk in newness of life” (Rom 6:4). To be a Christian is to stand in Christ and to walk in Christ. We stand in confidence knowing that our sins have been forgiven. However, we also walk in the power and grace that God gives so that we might live a life worthy of the gospel.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that Your grace is much more than I can fully grasp. I also see that it is much more than sufficient to forgive my sins and to help me live a godly life. So, I humbly reach out to You to receive from Your abundance of grace, that I might walk more victoriously, through Christ, Amen.

Read Romans 5:18—6:14
