MEET YOUR NEWCOV TEAM

I’m Pastor Scott, Lead Pastor at New Covenant Community Church. I began my ministry here as a volunteer Jr. High Director and ran the set team in the infant stages of the church. Since 1987 I have held every position imaginable, except in women’s ministry.

My wife Katie and I have been married since 1989, and we started attending NewCov during our dating years. We have 3 grown and married children: Tyler (wife Miranda), Ryan (wife Mattie), and Kyndel (husband JJ).

My newest title is “Grandpa” to Briar and Beckett. It’s been so much fun! I love being a “Papa”!  In my free time I enjoy fishing, golfing, and hanging out with friends and family.

My husband Kurt and I have been blessed to call NewCov home since 1997. We have 3 adult children: Kyle, Katie, and Kaleb who are scattered across the country… so we love to travel to see them, as well as, explore new places. We are honored to serve in our church and community as much as possible.

I have been on staff with NewCov since 2018, and in pastoral ministry since 1995. I’m married to Melanie, and have 3 daughters! I graduated of Rockbridge Seminary. I enjoy spending time on the beach with my family, and riding my mountain bike wherever the trails will take me!

Hey NewCov Family! I’ve been on staff at NewCov since July of 2022 and have worked in ministry since 2019. My favorite part of working in the Creative Department is helping show others that worship is often more than just singing. I currently attend The Masters University with a major in Christian Ministries and will graduate in 2023. When I’m not at NewCov, you’ll usually find me on a pool deck coaching water polo or playing an instrument!

My name is Nathan Berryhill and I work in the production department. I’ve been at NewCov since I was in kindergarten and I enjoy getting to use my creativity to support all the other ministries on campus. I’m in school getting my teaching credential and hope to work with 4th-6th graders. In my spare time, I love to rock climb and be outdoors.

Hey everyone! My name is Ryan Ruch and I have been on the New Covenant staff since June 2023 serving in production and tech. I have a passion working in audio, lighting, and video fields of production and I hope to bring joy to people with the things I do best. In my spare time, I like to produce and record music as well as stay fit and travel.

After serving 8 years active duty in the military, and obtaining my B.A. in Pastoral Ministry, I pastored in Eugene, Oregon before God led me to Fresno in 2004. My wife, Karen, and I are a blended family… I have four daughters and she has four sons (I already know what you’re thinking LOL!). We also have five grandchildren.  I have been a part of NewCov’s staff since 2021 and I have to say, “I love the people of this church!”

Hi, I’m Sandra! I have been at NewCov since high school, when Pastor Borman was the high school pastor. My husband, Brian and I enjoy homeschooling our two kids, spending time outdoors, and participating in ON TARGET, a symmetry group at NewCov.

My husband, Jerry and I are charter members of NewCov.  It has been a full life journey, and I am grateful to be part of this church family. My husband and I purchased a cabin at Bass Lake that was his sweet spot, now he is with Jesus and our cabin continues to be a sweet spot shared with family and friends.

Hi, I’m Stacey! I’ve been attending NewCov since 1999, and on the NewCov team since 2001. Starting in Children’s Ministry, and now working in administration and event planning. I have so much fun planning events and decorating the church for all the different seasons. My husband Scott and I have three amazing daughters, and currently one amazing son-in-law. When I’m not at NewCov I’m probably redecorating my house, watching Hallmark movies, or College Gameday on the couch with our cute dog, Emmy.

I began attending NewCov in 2017 when my now husband, Ryan, and I started dating. We got married in 2019 and now have a beautiful baby girl. Together we enjoy going to the Farmer’s Market, good coffee, hiking, going to the beach, and spending time in God’s creation! I am so grateful to be a part of the women’s ministry team here at NewCov and look forward to all God has in store.

Hey! I married my beautiful Wife Karissa in September of 2016. In May of 2020 we welcomed our firstborn son, Jack, into the world and in December of 2022 we welcomed our second son, Jones. We love spending time at the coast, in the mountains, or at a local park. Basically, we love the outdoors! I’ve been in ministry since 2012 and my first 9 years were spent in Student Ministry. In July of 2021, God brought me to NewCov to serve the Young Adults, Connect Groups, and Partnership ministries. We are thrilled to be a part of the NewCov family!

My husband, Jack, and I have been married 28 years. We love NewCov! We have 2 children and we enjoy spending time together as a family.

I grew up in Avenal, CA. I attended West Hills Community College and Fresno Pacific University. I joined NewCov in 1999 after serving as the Young Adult Pastor at Peoples Church here in Fresno. While serving there, I was blessed to lead mission trips to Bosnia, Germany, Mexico, and Russia.

I love to run and ride the spin bike. On most Saturday mornings you can find me and my wife, Kristy, out at Woodward park running with their friends. Most of all, I love spending time with my wife and best friend, Kristy.

Don’t be surprised if you spot me at a local Starbucks enjoying a cup of dark roast coffee and visiting with friends. My wife Kristy and I have been married since March of 2000, and have 2 grown children: Boyce and Rebekah, and 1 terrific grandson, Boyce.

Hey NewCov! I’ve been the Children’s Ministry Director since October, 2023. I have had the joy of serving students of all ages for almost 30 years. My heart is to see kids fall in love with Jesus as they recognize the holiness of God, the sinfulness of man, and the redemption of Jesus Christ. I graduated from Fresno Pacific with a BA in Liberal Studies. I am the loudest laugher you’ll ever meet, and I laugh at all my own jokes. If we haven’t met, I hope we get to soon!

As the Early Childhood Director, I always say that I have the best job in the building. I get to use glitter and play dough and teach kids about Jesus! Such a fun job! When I’m not working, I love being at home with my family. My husband Kevin and I have been married for almost 30 years. We have five children, 3 grandbabies, 10 chickens, 2 dogs, 2 cats, a bunny, and a turtle. Needless to say, we have a house full and we absolutely love it! Whether at home or at work, I have the awesome opportunity to pour the love of Jesus into the next generation.

Hi! My name is Miranda Borman. I am the Adventure Buddies Director at NewCov. I have been attending NewCov since August 2020.  I got married in November 2022 to my wonderful husband Tyler, then became a mama to our sweet boy Beckett in August 2023. I have been working with children with special needs since 2019, which brings me endless joy!  When I am outside of the sanctuary, you can find me on the east side of NewCov’s campus coaching Tball and soccer with my husband. And when I’m not on a field, I’m usually spending quality time with my friends and family. I am super excited to see this ministry thrive with God’s lead.

I’ve been married to Dan for 26 years, and we’ve been at NewCov even longer!  We have 4 kids: 2 are in college (1 of those is in the Air National Guard), and 2 are in high school. We love traveling and serving at our church!

Hi NewCov family! I’m so excited to be a part of the Children’s Team! I’ve been serving in Children’s Ministry since 2019 and have cherished the opportunity to watch our “littles” learn about the love Jesus has for them! I’m also involved with Youth Ministry on Sunday nights. Getting to serve with these age groups has been an experience of how God shapes us in every life-stage. Currently, I’m completing my Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and can’t wait to work as a therapist one day!

Hey y’all! I am the Youth Worship Director here at NewCov! I’ve been on staff since January of 2022, and moved into the youth world in June of 2022. I’ve grown up with pastor Josh, so it’s a great opportunity to serve the Lord together with him! My heart for students has been blooming since my junior year of high school, and my drive stems from wanting students to not miss out on who Jesus is in the most formative years of their lives.

I am deeply committed to my faith and have dedicated my life to serving God and his people within our church community. With a heart full of love and a desire to make a positive impact, I began volunteering at NewCov since 2015. Outside of my church involvement, I cherish my family, which includes my husband of 47 years, Jack, our two children, Chris and Kristina, and 5 beautiful grandchildren.

My wife and I have been attending New Covenant Church since 2004. We had 5 kids, we lost one in 2014.  We have 8 grandkids and 3 great grand kids. One of our daughters lives in Florida, so we try to get back there once a year, the rest live close to home in California and Nevada.

I was born on Sep 8, 1960 in Kyiv, Ukraine. I grew up in a Christian family and was baptized when I was 17 years old. After finishing school, I worked 25 years as a supervisor in a metal factory. My wife and I married in 1990, and we now have 3 children. My family migrated to America in 2001. I eventually got hired to work on the Facilities team at NewCov, and have been here since.

Pavlo grew up in Ukraine and lived there for 38 years before moving to Fresno with his family! Pavlo has 5 daughters, 3 son-in-laws and 4 grandchildren. He has been working at the church since November 2013. He loves spending time with family and going fishing and skiing.

Hi, my name is Karson Steitz. Whenever possible I’m out seeking out new places, cities, beaches, and golf courses to explore. If I haven’t been there yet it adds to the excitement. Having my friends there with me is like heaven on earth. Whether working or playing it’s important to have a good time and learn new things. I find joy getting deeper understanding about the nuances of the activities and relationships that God has filled my day with.
