Why Serve?
We were saved to serve. In Romans 12:1 Paul tell us, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship”. Serving is just as important a form of worship as singing songs of praise on Sunday.
What Really Is Service?
There is a place for each of us to serve and grow as Scripture tells us in Ephesians 4:11-12. "And He himself gave some to be apostles, some pastors, and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ…"
Serving God can sound like a huge task that you are completely unequipped to do. The wonderful thing is that God will provide you with the exact tools you need to get the work done that He would have you do. What work is that? It could be anything from providing food and care to the homeless, to sharing the Gospel with children at our Vacation Bible School, to doing data entry at our administrative office. No service is more valuable than any other. It all works to advance God’s agenda.
Now is the time to join the team!
All of the ministries at New Covenant are made possible by the wonderful support we receive by our congregation of believers. Our motto at New Covenant has always been, "Every Member a Minister". We believe that God has created each one of us with our own spiritual gifts.
