SURF PreTeen Ministry

SURF students in 5th and 6th grade are at a very transitional point in their lives, neither wanting to be treated as kids, nor yet ready to be treated as teens. It is Surf’s desire to minister to preteens by teaching them about Identity (Who God is + Who Am I), Belonging (Who is the Church + Where Do I Fit In), and Mission (Who is Jesus + What is my Mission).

SURF – Wednesday Nights

6:30pm-8:00pm – NewCov is the place to be on Wednesday nights if you’re in 5th or 6th grade. It’s live, it’s loud, and it’s FUN! This is a great place to bring friends and learn more.

SURF – Sunday Mornings

9:00am & 10:30am – We meet in the SURF Shack (Building 7 – West Campus)

Aaron Esquibel

Surf Resident Director

In addition to our weekly programs, SURF has lots of special events throughout the year, including summer camp, Mall Madness, pool parties and the SuperStart Preteen conference in October.

Wagon Train

VBX is an extreme version of our summer Vacation Bible Adventure — just for 5th and 6th graders! In addition to the morning programs at NewCov, VBX includes afternoon experiences just for preteens, like Boomers, bowling, or Skywalk. VBX is an awesome place for 5th and 6th graders just beginning to explore a relationship with Jesus Christ, as well as those who have grown up in the church and are seeking to strengthen their personal relationship with God.

2018 Dates: June 11th-15th

Wagon Train is a fun, rustic summer camp for students in 5th and 6th grade. This Old West experience includes sleeping in a real covered wagon, learning Archery and BB guns, riding canoes and kayaks around the pond and exploring Fort Logan (our three story island fort). You’ll also sit around a campfire singing worship songs, memorize scripture, watch amazing skits about the Bible performed by the Wagon Train staff and hear each morning and evening the Good News of Jesus and his love for us.
