The relationship junior high students develop with the Lord during their teen years will shape the way they follow Him for the rest of their lives. Our aim is to create a community of junior high students who are centered on The Word of God, Discipleship, and the abundant life that is found in knowing Christ.
At our Junior High gathering, students will engage in four things: Recreation, Worship through music, Bible teaching, and community with other students in Connect Groups.
Grab your Bible, notebook, and a pen and join us Tuesday nights as we grow closer to one another, and to our God!
Our goal for Sunday AM Junior High service is to provide a space where students can learn more about what it means to follow Jesus by worshipping through song and verse-by-verse teaching.
The experience will look and feel similar to our main adult gathering so that when they attend the main gathering, it feels familiar to them. Grab your Bible, notebook, pen and a friend as we learn together what it means to follow Jesus!

SUN-FRI | JUL 12-17
@ OAKHURST
Summer Camp for all incoming 7th and 8th grade students!
This summer, we’re heading to the mountains for a week you actually won’t forget—at our new spot, Camp Oakhurst.
This isn’t just another trip. It’s a chance to get away from all the noise, hang with real people, and experience Jesus in a way that actually hits different. Whether you’re rolling in with your friends or coming not knowing what to expect, this week is for you.
Here’s the vibe:
Real Talks
Speakers who keep it real—talking about faith, life, and stuff you’re actually dealing with.
Worship That Hits
Every night we go all in—loud, honest, and focused on Jesus
Your People
Grow closer with your friends and meet new ones you’ll still be talking to after camp ends.
Wild Games
High-energy team competitions, chaos, surprises… yeah, it’s gonna get competitive.
Mountain Reset
Fresh air, no distractions, and space to actually think, breathe, and connect with God.
Honestly, camp is one of the best weeks of the year—where your faith gets real, your friendships get stronger, and you have a blast the whole time.
Are you in?

PreTeen & Junior High Director
What’s up! My name is Branden Moroney and I am blessed to be a part of this NewCov Youth Team! I have the most amazing, beautiful Fiancé Emily, that I am so excited to marry! In my free time I love to golf and hangout at coffee shops! I just graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Biblical Studies – Youth Ministry degree. I have a growing passion for youth because that is where the Lord found me and I want to invest in the present and future generation of the church.

Student Ministry Worship Director
Hey NewCov Family! I’ve been on staff at NewCov since July of 2022 and have worked in ministry since 2019. My favorite part of working in the Creative Department is helping show others that worship is often more than just singing. I currently attend The Masters University with a major in Christian Ministries and will graduate in 2023. When I’m not at NewCov, you’ll usually find me on a pool deck coaching water polo or playing an instrument!

I’ve been married to Dan for 26 years, and we’ve been at NewCov even longer! We have 4 kids: 2 are in college (1 of those is in the Air National Guard), and 2 are in high school. We love traveling and serving at our church!
