Our aim is to create a community of high school students that is centered on The Word of God, Discipleship, and the abundant life that is found in knowing Christ.

At our High School gathering, students will engage in three things:
• Worship through music
• Bible teaching
• Community with other students in Connect Groups
Grab your Bible, notebook, and a pen and join us Sunday nights as we grow closer to one another, and to our God!

MORNINGS

We believe there is a great benefit to teens being in the main church gathering on Sunday mornings. So, sit together as a family, or sit with us on the right side of the Sanctuary every Sunday!
We’ll be in the main service for worship and announcements, then walk together to the Brown House after announcements for Bible Study.
In the last Sunday of every month, we’ll stay in the whole service for communion.

Sugar Pine’s Winter Camps are filled with non-stop action! Laser Tag, Street Hockey, Night Games, Team Competitions, Late Night Worship and our NEW Astro Turf Tube Run (downhill thrills even if there is no snow!). Of course, these weekends are built around our energetic, Christ-centered chapel times where our goal is to see students and leaders grow closer to God AND to each other.

Get to know Malik
Hey NewCov! My name is Malik Black and I am blessed and honored to join the NewCov youth team. I was born in Indiana and moved to Southern California when I was 10 years old. I have always served in youth ministry since graduating high school because I loved helping students find Jesus for themselves! In 2023 I graduated with a Masters in Leadership Theology at Life Pacific University. I have a beautiful wife Breann and an amazing son Stephen who are my world. Basketball holds a special place in my heart and spending time with family doing anything! I always felt a call on my life for full-time ministry and am excited to start the journey here at NewCov!

Hey NewCov Family! I’ve been on staff at NewCov since July of 2022 and have worked in ministry since 2019. My favorite part of working in the Creative Department is helping show others that worship is often more than just singing. I currently attend The Masters University with a major in Christian Ministries and will graduate in 2023. When I’m not at NewCov, you’ll usually find me on a pool deck coaching water polo or playing an instrument!

I’ve been married to Dan for 26 years, and we’ve been at NewCov even longer! We have 4 kids: 2 are in college (1 of those is in the Air National Guard), and 2 are in high school. We love traveling and serving at our church!
